I should have done this back in April but better late than never. It has been 3 and 1/2 years since my Bichon Casey was diagnosed with diabetes. Long story short, what I thought was a doomed situation when she was diagnosed, turned out to be a 3.5 yrs (and counting) of precious years with her. First few months were rocky and nerve wracking. Andy was fine and acting normal all day yesterday. He had his dinner and normal insulin and we all went to bed as usual.

About midnight, he started having trouble breathing and threw up. I checked his BG and it was around 300 so running high not low. We took him to ER where they ran x-rays, gave sub-q fluids, a shot of antibiotic and something for nausea.

I have been up all night, he is no better this morning.
